Exploring every single corner of New York City is one of my missions over the next few years, and that includes the darling hotels hidden throughout the city. I was invited by the Library Hotel Collection to make their set of chic Manhattan-based boutique hotels a part of my first New York Fashion Week experience, and the first stop was the lovely Hotel Giraffe on Park Avenue – and no, the location doesn’t get any better.
This hotel in four words: urban New York luxury. The chaos of NYFW made coming back to this luxurious bed with a Park Avenue view and complimentary copies of The New York Times (the newspaper I’ve been reading religiously since I was 11) a wonderful taste of the city’s world-famous hospitality. I’m quickly learning that one of the sweetest feelings is soaking up Manhattans’s energy all day long and then retreating to a quiet and comfortable haven at the end of the day…with the comfort of knowing the city will soon wake up with you again.
So why is it called the hotel Giraffe? Inspired by the Art Moderne period of the 1920’s and 30’s , The Giraffe aims to incorporate the graceful, peaceful and beautiful elements of nature’s most beloved animal…and that it does. The Giraffe artfully mimics the simple elegance that Park Avenue exudes superfluously…I found every detail was a celebration of the city’s effortless glamour.
Confession: When I first came to the city in college, I had an interview for a summer internship but all I could afford at the time was a rather dismal hostel which I’m quite certain was a hardly renovated closet…which is an experience I’m thankful for, especially when following my dreams and starting my own business leads me to cooperations with incredible brands like this. Waking up in this palatial-in-comparison opulent dream room in Hotel Giraffe made my New York story one notch closer to full circle
My mornings in Hotel Giraffe were mostly spent sipping on coffee with gratitude, watching the city wake up from the balcony and conversing with the wonderfully chatty and helpful staff before the events of the day. Perfect for leisure, business or fellow bloggers during events, I look forward to enjoying this gorgeous Manhattan view one day again…
